Abstract
James Louis Moran, Jr., Ph.D., is a two-time graduate of Florida A&M University; he is currently the Director of Alumni Engagement at FAMU’s College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public. Former decorated Combat Engineer, Army Officer, and Veteran with 14 years of service. Dr. Moran is the Assistant Pastor of Powerhouse Family Worship Center, located in Tallahassee, Florida. He is a community activist and former elected Congressional District 2 Democratic Delegate for the State of Florida.
He is a former Vice Chair and Commissioner of the Tallahassee Housing Authority, a member of the Florida Bar’s Mediation and Arbitration Committee, Former 1st Vice President and Life Member of FAMU’s National Alumni Association, Inc.; He is the Chapter‘s Keeper of Records and Seal and Life member of Omega Psi Phi, Fraternity, Chi Omega chapter; member of Alpha Phi Omega, Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Delta chapter; member of the National Society of Pershing Rifles; Leadership Tallahassee, Class 21; a 33 Degree Mason and former Keeper of Records & Archives, with the Monticello Consistory #331, and former Chapter President and Board Committee Member of the National Society of Government Meeting Professional where he recently received their prestigious Legacy Award.
2024 celebrates his 25th year, reciting the “I Have a Dream” Speech. His presentations have been the presence of Martin Luther King, III, Federal, State, and Local Governments, three State Colleges and Universities in Georgia and Florida, Churches, Senior Centers, numerous M.L. King, Jr., and Black History Celebrations, and at National Competitions performing LIVE with the Marching “100.”
James is a thespian, musician, vocalist, visual artist, photographer, and screenwriter. He is drafting several novels, one titled after his screenplay “Deep Southern Mudd.” He has performed in serval plays since 1994. His previous stage credits include roles in F.M., The Tell-Tale Heart, On Toby Time, Driving Miss Daisy as Hoke Colburn, and more. James recently (2022- 2024), had the pleasure of working on four FSU Film projects as an actor/voice talent and was an actor in a Department of Health (DOH) Public Service Announcement (PSA) contracted by Salters/Mitchell PR Group of Tallahassee, Florida.
