Served Florida A&M University from 1992 to 2002, establishing a decade-long record of leadership within FAMU Athletics. Rising to the position of Associate Athletic Director, she assumed substantial responsibility for the financial, academic, and administrative operations that supported the University’s intercollegiate athletic programs. Among DuPont-Jones’s most significant responsibilities was the management of FAMU Athletics’ approximately $7 million budget. During periods of financial challenge within the department, her management responsibilities placed her at the center of efforts to maintain accountability and support the continued operation of Rattler Athletics.

DuPont-Jones developed particular expertise in fiscal administration and organizational management. Within collegiate athletics, her professional responsibilities encompassed multimillion-dollar budgeting as well as the coordination of programs supporting student academic achievement. This combination required an understanding of how financial decisions affect personnel, student services, institutional priorities, and the overall effectiveness of educational programs.
Her professional career also places her within the broader history of women in athletic administration. As women gained greater opportunities to participate in collegiate athletics, the expansion of women’s leadership into administrative and decision-making positions became another important dimension of institutional change. Following her work in collegiate athletics, DuPont-Jones continued her career in higher education administration, later serving as a business manager at Tallahassee Community College.
